For me each painting is a trip to a world of imagination and expression. Sometimes my finished work diverges greatly from work that I originally intended to create. Often times, one of my paintings is essentially finished, and yet I feel as though something is missing. A simple splash of color can totally balance and complete the piece. It is like adding a special spice to the recipe that will bring it to another level. This is the point when I can finally sign my work. I believe That in the creative course, the artist's goal is to reach a maximum harmony of both color-relationships and contour composition. This will divide the forms and hues on the canvas in a flowing manner. There is always a method to the madness. Today, my artwork is an influence of classical training combined with a taste of both European and Mediterranean flavors. without a strong starting point in classical training from the traditional school, one cannot achieve a truly strong piece. At the same time, there is a way to break from the tradition in a way that translates into pure beauty that speaks to people today. It took me a while to each this point of artistic freedom. In my mind there is no longer a "right way" to paint a picture, as a classical method would have you believe; rather is provides the foundation on which you have the tools to build a totally original creation that can move people deep inside.
